Yes Way Diaré: Per Se

This year I got really lucké and was treated by my family to dinner at Thomas Keller’s three-Michelin-starred restaurant Per Se. It is certainly one of the best dining experiences in NYC, and now I can say one of the best I’ve ever had in my life. We started the night with a champagne toast, Billecart-Salmon Brut Rose, naturallé. The 9 course tasting menu is perfectly balanced and each dish was a work of art. Even better, my belated birthday celebration happened to coincide with TRUFFLE SEASON. There is seriouslé nothing better than a simple bowl of pasta drowning in shaved truffles. Other highlights were the delicate”Oysters and Pearls” starter, which is described as “Sabayon” of Pearl Tapioca with Island Creek Oysters and Sterling White Sturgeon Caviar, and the super tender short-rib. The final course, unassumingly called “Assortment of Desserts,” should really be called “Never Ending Desserts” as the table was covered in more delicious sweet goodness than I thought we could handle after such a incredible meal. Turns out we could. -NH
